I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Practice Velocity
Interview
Start with an initial phone screening with their human resource representative. Second phone interview on speaker phone with development team members. Development team discussed my resume and asked technical questions. Overall, I thought the interview went well and was looking forward to the third interview, a coding assignment. I did not get called back for a week and when I called to check the status, the HR lady was rude. I have heard a lot of bad things about Practice Velocity and am feeling lucky I didn't get hired into what I hear is a "volatile work environment."
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Asked about ten technical questions to gage my experience level.
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Practice Velocity (New York, NY)
Interview
I had a short phone interview with their recruiter which resulted in scheduling another phone interview with some software team leads. Call started late and they quickly introduced themselves. At that point they immediately started asking technical questions without even letting me introduce myself (or even giving me a chance to say anything). It was quite awkward. It has been a while since I really did any interview, but this had a very weird vibe. The questions were very basic computer science questions and really were a bit insulting to ask someone with my experience level, but if they had given me some time to introduce myself and give a little bit of my background, they could have probably asked some more relevant questions. After about 10 minutes, I basically dismissed myself realizing this was not the right job for me. They were obviously looking for a much more junior level engineer.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Practice Velocity (Rockford, IL) in June 2017
Interview
There were 3 Interviews. 2 were Phone based, with one being a 24 hr coding challenge, and 1 in person interview at their HQ. Waiting time between interviews was a bit long (around 2-4 weeks between each).
The first phone interview was just a simple technical knowledge type of interview.
The second interview was a 24hr coding challenge, where I was giving a task to complete and a github repo to push the code into. We then had a conference call with two developers and one person from HR to go over the code.
The final interview was an in person interview at their offices. The interview was split into 3 meetings with different groups. First was with management, second was with the development team, and third was with HR.
