      Finance Development Program Interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Precision Castparts in Feb 2012

      Interview

Precisions Castparts had an interesting approach to hiring new recruits. I was at my school's career fair and when I stopped by their booth, they gave me an interview on the spot. At the end of the week, I had an interview with 3 people. 2 that went through the Finance Development Program and 1 HR person. I left a good impression by speaking confidently and making them laugh. I know for a fact at the minimum I did at least okay. One week afterwards, I get a call from the main HR person saying that if I was still interested in the position since I forgot to submit my resume online like they asked. I submitted my resume immediately after that and then they dropped me completely. The problem here is that I assumed I had a 2nd round interview from the enthusiasm of the HR recruiter. Honestly, 2 weeks passed by and so I decided to be proactive and actually leave a voice message on her office phone asking if there was any news or if I should move on. No call back. A week later, I did the same thing by leaving a 2nd voice message. No reply again. I don't know, but honestly I would expect a company to be a more professional than that...I mean seriously? Is this how you deal with a person you're no longer interested in? The behavior is elementary and I'm glad I didn't get selected because it really makes me question the way employees are dealt with at the company. I feel nowadays corporations feel that they can get away with a lot in terms of who they choose for candidates. That is perfectly okay only when there is constant communication and ethics are observed.
