I got ghosted. An email to decline my application would have been appreciated.
I only went through the first phone screen. The interviewer ended up on a positive note by suggesting that the next interview would occur the following week. The interviewer did not follow up, and was unresponsive to e-mails.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
* A few questions on Agile methods.
* Give an example of a recent project.
* Tell me about three relevant skills that you would bring to the team.
* Give an example of a situation where a conflict arose with a coworker.
* How would you help others grow as a team.
* Salary range.
The interviewer did not ask any technical questions, although the position was technical. A word of caution for future candidates would be to get back on topic if the interviewer try to probe for an interest in something else than the job duties.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at PrecisionHawk
Interview
The interview process took over 2 months and the recruiter was unresponsive at times. This is most likely due to under staffing because it's a start up. Also, they need to vet who they are hiring for senior management roles. The last interview I had was with a director who if you google is a registered sex offender which is a felony. This affected my willingness to work for this company because how could I ask for a future reference from someone like that. Overall the interview process was pleasant and everyone is excited to be there.
Thank you for considering PrecisionHawk as a place to invest your career. It's great that you noticed our passion for what we do and who we do it with.
We appreciate feedback as we strive to make the candidate experience the best it can be. Your situation appears to be out of the norm as we fill the majority of our positions in less than 30 days and work hard to maintain communications with people throughout the entire process. We hate the recruiting black hole as much as candidates do!
Best wishes to you. We hope you land in a place where you can be wildly successful!
I applied online. I interviewed at PrecisionHawk (Raleigh, NC) in Aug 2017
Interview
Initially had a phone call with HR just to go over my experience and learn more about the company. Shortly after, I had a technical phone interview with a software engineering manager, which consisted of some high-level design/best practices questions and a few simple coding problems over a shared screen. Lastly, there was an on-site interview with 4 rounds (including HR). The on-site was surprisingly not very technical (only one coding problem asked), and instead mostly consisted of behavioral and scenario-type questions. I felt optimistic after the interview and thought everything had gone well, but was rejected a week later over my lack of geospatial/remote sensing experience (even though this wasn't a requirement in the initial job posting).

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback! We appreciate that you considered PrecisionHawk as a place to invest your career.
This decision was a difficult one as we had great people to consider for the role, yourself included! Ultimately, the hiring manager chose to make an offer to the person he thought could be the most successful in the job as individual success is very important to us.
We appreciate meeting you, and wish you great success in your next role.
