They strung me along for a few weeks over the course of what felt like four really great interviews before deciding not to hire me. After the second interview they hinted they wanted me to drop out of consideration, possibly to make it easier for them to hire. Said they would reach out in a few months when they could afford to hire more people. Of course, they left it at, “You’ll probably get hired somewhere else in the meantime.” And I never heard back. The whole experience really left a bad taste in my mouth. The majority of the interview shouldn’t consist of asking why I want to work there and then inviting me to withdraw from consideration. If that’s the case, you should just cut me loose and save our time. I wish I had picked up on this earlier and done myself a favor.
