I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Preston Ventures in May 2025
Interview
1. Online Assessment (OA)
2. Initial screening with SVP, Data & AI
3. Take-Home Project
4. Panel Interview with 4 people (Director of MLOps, SVP, Data & AI, VP Data Architecture, Sr. Data Engineer)
5. Final Offer round to discuss salary
I was offered a yearly base salary of $152,500 along with a discretionary bonus of $10K based on performance.
Some red flags:
- Preston Ventures accidentally sent me another candidate's background check form that was already filled out with PII (e.g., SSN).
- We had an initial agreement regarding compensation, but it unexpectedly changed during a follow-up discussion
- Preston Ventures asked me to send screenshots of me declining other pending offers/interviews I had
- When I asked clarifying questions regarding the offer letter, Preston Ventures ultimately rescinded their offer (even after I said I was ready to sign).
I enjoyed speaking with everyone, so it's unfortunate that this took an unexpected turn towards the end! Best of luck to Preston Ventures and everyone I spoke with.

Question 1
How have you been able to automate processes in the past and what are some examples of issues you have run into along that process?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Preston Ventures (Mission Viejo, CA) in June 2022
Interview
A recruiter reached out on Linkedin. They sent me a hackerrank online coding challenge. After I took this assessment, I was scheduled to have another interview with a data engineer at Preston Ventures.
The interview with the data engineer took approximately 1.5 hours. I feel I did pretty well on both sections of the interview at this point. From this point, I was ghosted by Preston Ventures. Nobody contacted me to for any further interviews nor did they let me know I was rejected--just radio silence. I think it's a pretty bad look for an institution to ghost someone after they have begun the interview process. Definitely left a negative impression
