I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Primark (London, England) in June 2015
Interview
The interview was for the retail assistant postition at the Oxford Street West store. It consisted of a 1:1 interview with the HR manager. The interview started with the manager reviewing my CV and it ended with him asking around four questions. The interview lasted about 15-20 minutes and Primark let you select the time and date of the interview. If successful you will be called back about a week later to start your induction. The induction involves filling out paperwork for about 5 hours. Work starts the day after your induction.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
His questions saw how you would react to certain scenarios while working. They were very similar to what was asked on the personality test before.
Questions:
A customer wants to buy a dress but it isn't in stock, there is only the display copy available, what do you do?
You are working on the till there is a long line. A customer pushes in front to ask for a refund for something bought online, what do you do?
Those are the only questions I can remember.
One on one with the team manager of the department which i was about to get hired. He asked me situasional question like "How would you deal with an angry customer?" or "How do you cooperate in team when you have a bad day"
In the interview, I was told about the working hours and was asked several behavioural questions, as well as why I want to work at Primark and what I know about the Company and its values.
The process begins with an online assessment to evaluate initial skills and qualifications, and candidates who pass this stage are then invited to attend a formal in-person interview for further evaluation.
