I applied online. I interviewed at Prudent Publishing (Ridgefield Park, NJ) in Aug 2017
Interview
I received a phone call about 2.5 weeks after applying and was asked a few basic questions. We then scheduled an in-person interview. The company felt very relaxed and everyone was so friendly. I was first asked to do the computer test, which basically sees how well you know how to use illustrator when it comes to the responsibilities of a production artist. The instructions were very clear, but had to ask for clarification a few times since there are so many possibilities with Ai. The woman helping was so nice and friendly. This took about 45 minutes. I then did a written test right after. This consisted of technical questions regarding Ai. Not too hard if you know Ai and fundamental graphic design. I was then asked to fill out a paper application (not sure why since I already did that online). Then, I had an interview with the HR manager. She was very easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable. The questions were basic interview questions. I received a call back about 2 weeks later with a job offer and started a week and a half later.

You start with HR, then if all good you move to a test. You should be able to pass if you have familiarity working with shapes and pathfinder. Read instructions thoroughly. Be able to draw, dice, slice shapes. You should be fine.

Interview
Computer test to determine your knowledge of Adobe Illustrator. Don't worry too much, just make sure you know main instruments of Illustrator and know how program works in general. Then interview with HR.
