      Receptionist/Data Entry Representative Interview

      10 Aug 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Spring, TX
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Prysmian (Spring, TX) in Aug 2017

      Interview

I applied to an ad via Craigslist, in which I received an email back from a Terry Charlton to add a Dayane Ribiero to Google Hangouts to conduct an online interview. The interview as I thought using google hangouts would of maybe been a video call or even hopefully a phone interview, but it was neither of those. They started the interview through a huge conversation on google hangouts asking me many series of questions. After getting through the whole process about 25 minutes later I was offered the Receptionist position in which I would work from home. Going further into conversation I was told I needed certain supplies like Laptop, Printer/Scanner and like 5-7 different office accounting programs and in order to get these programs I would be sent a check via FedEx or USPS to my home address in which I would need to go deposit via my drive thru ATM only! After funds are made available I would need to contact Mrs. Dayane and let her know that funds are now available and through which of the vendors she uses to get my supplies from and if I understood these directions. After going to the Prysmian website she sent me the link to earlier in our conversation there is no number to contact Prysmian and couldn't believe they are willing to send a check to a random person whom they haven't gotten the chance to meet with face to face. I messaged her back and after more consideration of everything said to me.. I could not risk releasing any of my personal information to her without knowing if this is really how Prysmian does their recruiting. She immediately signed off of google hangouts and never responded back to my message. This was the most absurd thing I have ever heard of doing.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Was asked numerous questions: Alright first set of questions. What does a company owe its employees? What other companies are you interviewing with? -I believe a company owes its employees Gratitude and Appreciation. I am currently not interviewing with any other Companies at this time. Are you currently employed? How many hours do you intend to dedicate to this job position if hired? -I am not currently employed and intend to dedicate my full 8 hour day to this position if hired. What qualities do you look for in a boss and What motivates you to do your best on the job? Do you have any QuickBooks experience & why do you want to work for this company? What is your clerical speed(WPM)? -I look for strong leadership qualities, considerate, helpful/mentor type. I believe that hard work and dedication everyday motivates me to do my best. I have very little QuickBooks experience it has been a few years since I have used the program. I believe I would be a great fit for this company, I have 9 years of data entry experience and working with spreadsheets, data, financial figures/budgets. My clerical speed is 72WPM

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately this is not an offer from Prysmian Group. We use our own local recruiter in conjunction with certified recruiting agencies to hire all of our employees. We do post on job boards but do not use Google hangout as a source to communicate or hire. We understand our company name is being used in a scam to access people's personal financial information. When the Job is "accepted" these people send you a check to purchase software. When you deposit the check they then take money from your account. Prysmian has reported this to the proper authorities and is working to stop this illegal activity. Please be aware that we would never recruit or ask for personal information in this way. We are sorry you experienced this and appreciate that you are making the community aware.
