- Lengthy, time-consuming interview process
- Poor communication from recruiters
- Complete lack of respect for candidates' time and effort
- Ghosting after multiple rounds of interviews
- Misleading about hiring status
I applied for a senior software engineering position at Qarik and went through an extensive interview process. This included multiple technical interviews, system design discussions, and even a conversation with the CTO. Throughout the process, I received positive feedback from all interviewers, which led me to believe I was a strong candidate.
After investing significant time and effort, often taking time off from my current job to attend interviews, the company's behavior took a sharp turn for the worse. Follow-up emails went unanswered for days, sometimes even a week. Eventually, they stopped responding altogether, effectively ghosting me without any explanation or closure.
The most frustrating part came when I noticed Qarik posting on LinkedIn that they were still hiring for the same position, just weeks after they had ghosted me. This demonstrates a complete lack of respect for candidates and raises serious questions about their professionalism and integrity.
If you value your time and professional courtesy, I would strongly advise against pursuing opportunities with Qarik. Their hiring practices are inconsiderate at best and deceptive at worst. A company that treats potential employees this way is unlikely to value its actual employees any better.
Advice to Management:
Implement a more respectful and transparent hiring process. Provide timely feedback to candidates, even if it's a rejection. Ghosting candidates after multiple rounds of interviews is unprofessional and damages your company's reputation. Treat applicants with the same respect you'd expect if you were in their position.
