I am sharing my experience to help future candidates make informed decisions. I cleared all interview rounds, completed the required formalities, and received a confirmed joining date from the company. Based on this confirmation, I resigned from my previous job and completed my notice period. Since the job location was very far from my hometown, I reconfirmed the joining date before booking travel. After their confirmation, I booked flight tickets for myself and my father so he could accompany me for relocation and joining formalities. However, just five days before my joining date — and after my notice period had ended — I was informed that my joining was being delayed. No official revised date was provided. I was verbally told it might take around two months, but it has now been four months with no update. When I requested reimbursement for the travel expenses incurred based on their confirmed joining date, they agreed to reimburse only my ticket and refused to cover my father’s ticket, even though they were aware of my travel plans. Because of this situation, I lost my job and also suffered additional financial loss. My advice to future candidates: Please ensure you have another offer in hand and do not rely completely on a joining confirmation until you actually start working.
