I applied online for the Junior Javascript Engineer role which ended up being a role that's part of their client services team. ~2 weeks later an internal recruiter from London reached out to me to schedule a 30 minute phone screen about what Qubit does, the role I was applying for, and what I'm looking for. We then scheduled a video interview with a client services engineer in NYC and in London. After that, I completed a brief coding challenge that took me ~4-6 hours to complete. I then went to an onsite interview where I met with 2 team members, one to assess my technical skills one to assess my culture fit . I then had one final video interview with a team member in London to go over expectations for the position. After that, I received an email from the recruiter that led me to expect an offer was incoming and met with the team member who would be my manager where we discussed how I should prepare for the role. 2 days later, I received a brief email from the recruiter that said circumstances had changed and they were no longer able to make me an offer.
While it was really great getting to know all the team members at Qubit and they all interviewed well and were quite knowledgeable, it was very frustrating spending so much time in the interview process only for them to decide they didn't need the position anymore without ever sending a warning to me. This left an overall bad taste in my mouth even though I was excited about the role and the people I spoke with. I hope they can be more transparent to future candidates.
