      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at QuikTrip

      Interview

Applied online. Received a phone call with in a day or two to schedule an interview. First you do a math test and if you pass you move on to the 1 on 1 interview. Everything went well and easy. My interviewer gave me a deadline of two weeks in which I would receive a phone call, with good or bad news basically. During this interview I asked the question how much money I would be making and how the training process would go. According to my interviewer I would make 40k and the training was Three weeks which would be divided in two weeks in a training store and one week on your final location. A few days passed, it was on a Wednesday, I received a phone call from QT. There was an opening to start the upcoming Sunday. Normally they didn't work this fast but the interviewer liked me so this was a special occasion, according to the person who interviewed me. He welcomed me to the 40k club and wished me a wonderful day. The introduction day was the following Friday 8am in the morning. Six people gathered in a sort of class room. Some forms needed to be filled out and video's had to be watched. The person who lead the introduction day explained how everything would work out. Here is where my emergency bells went off. According to this man my salary wouldn't be 40k but more like 36k including bonuses. When I asked where this difference came from he answered that the interviewer projected the salary on the higher end of the spectrum. When I asked about my hourly wage it became even worse, he answered $10.99 p/h with a 46 hour week. Now if I do the math that means $26.288 and not 36k. But that was not all. The promised three weeks training turned in to a two weeks training, one week in a training store and the second on your final location. My gut feeling told me not to continue with QT and I should have listened. As you can guess I didn't. The Sunday night came and I presented my self at the store where I was scheduled to be trained at. As I applied to a night assistant manager position with in this company I expected a managing job, maybe with some hands on work. Nobody told me I would probably be alone or maybe with one night clerk. Nobody told me I would be cleaning restrooms and everything else in and outside the store. Nobody told me i would restock the whole store, receive orders, clean and refill the grills, make biscuits and pizza's in between the customers that visit. I didn't give up, I was still willing to give it my best shot. I worked my butt off literally. I made this move, I gave up a steady job to work for QT. Last night I had to turn in my name badge and had to clock out. According to the trainer and his boss I wasn't fast enough. My training got terminated as she called it. QT was one of the less smart moves I have made in my life and for those of you who are thinking about making a move to QT my advice would be to take another look at the job you have right now or if you really want to leave your present job; do a little more research before stepping in this company. You can start as a clerk or a night assistant manager. However the night assistant manager is just a fancy name for restock/cleaning/clerk/kitchen-employee. At night there is nothing to manage in a QT gas station.

      Interview

Very intense. Asked many direct questions. They did not seem to be playing around. Despite being a gas station, everything was taken very seriously. Very direct questions. Was told that facial hair and tattoos could not be shown and had to be clean shaven.
