      Software Engineering Interview

      1 Sept 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Quora, Inc.

      Interview

Got a phone screen after I left my resume at a career fair. The phonescreen questions were not hard but I made a couple of mistakes (missed some edge cases) while coding the solutions. I fixed them later but the interviewer might not have liked that... I did answered all the questions the interviewer asked tho.

      Interview

I applied on their website but was turned down. In the rejection email, they had a link to solve challenges for a second chance. I solved one and was given a phone interview.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Quora, Inc.

      Interview

Applied online, and was contacted for an on-campus interview. 30-minute technical interview on campus was followed fairly promptly by an invitation to interview on site. On site interviews consisted of 3 hour long interviews with different engineers. Recruiters and interviewers were very nice and straightforward. They also followed up very quickly after the on site interview (I was not given an offer).

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Mostly standard interview questions, but they had a practical that involved looking at an existing codebase. You are given the option of Python , Java, or Javascript. The python one involved a Macbook, and I had to track down a bug that involved a stack overflow.
