      Manager Interview

      4 June 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at RENFROE

      Interview

First of all I think it's important to distinguish the 10,000+ number being the claims reps/adjusters, but the 40+ office-based, salaried employees so that going into it, you understand it's a pretty small team. It's not clear until you start the interview process that is the structure. So that being the case, you should expect the bandwidth for them to get back to you with final feedback, but that's not the case. I was ghosted after going through all of the interview processes, right before landing the final steps, which is frustrating because of how much time and effort I put into the entire process. It's unprofessional to be ghosted, especially when you're dealing with such a small team and boast about the family-feeling community and culture. I never got to talk to him, but I had some red flags about the CEO, he took the company over from his parents and doesn't have that much other experience to round himself out (in my opinion), and I just was worried about his personality and working habits based on some of the things the hiring team were saying, so ultimately I'm not that upset. Also, they did not have a band for salary, which at first I felt good about because they said they'd want this person to be happy, but now I can see it was a tactic to choose the cheapest candidate possible. I have no clue what other candidates said, but if someone asked for $30-40,000 less than me, it's an obvious choice for them on their part, so it's frustrating now looking back they were not transparent with their budget. One thing to their credit is before the ghosting, they were super communicative and friendly when checking in, so it's really a shame they handled it at the end like this.
