RIF interview questions

At first, did an average back and forth between the recruiter and then met with CEO and other higher up. Got turned down because of location... Then it got interesting. Got a call from the recruiter stating they wanted to hire me on for contract work. Apparently, there was trouble filling the position. NGL, I found that weird since every company is going through layoffs, leaving a lot of talent up for grabs. Anyway, I told them I would accept contract work and am ready to go...then never heard back. Ghosted after a job offer is a new one for me. Hope this was a fluke, but thought it would be helpful to other hopefuls.
