      Interview

ROI has a very thorough and interesting interview process. There were no "high pressure" interviews, as each step was very fair. The HR staff and others are very welcoming, and don't intend to trip you up with their questioning. They focus on making sure you are the best candidate for the position. The steps: 1. A phone interview. The phone interview took about half an hour. The questions were very typical of a first interview, and pertained to the candidates background and their initial interest in the position. The interview concluded and I was invited for an in person assessment a few days later. 2. In person assessment. I arrived and was taken on a quick tour of the office. Next, I started on the first assessment, which was 80 questions and was very similar to an IQ type test. A lot of pattern recognition, some simple math, and problem solving. Next was a spelling/grammar assessment which was short, and finally a personality assessment. The first assessment is timed, you get one hour to complete the 80 questions. A couple days later I was invited in for the third step in the process. 3. First in person interview. This was a panel style interview with four people total. The questions were based on my past work experience, and questions based on the suggested readings they provided before the interview. Again, they were very fair questions. It was not high pressure, and a very friendly atmosphere. The interview lasted about 30 minutes. At the end of the interview I was asked to come in for a final interview a few days later. 4. Final interview. This was another panel interview, five people this time. These questions were more geared toward the position. The interview was about an hour long. After the interview, I was told to come in one final time to sign a job offer. 5. Job offer. This was a short meeting with the HR manager just to sign the paperwork to bring me on board.

      Interview

I was first contacted by Laura a recruiter. We had a quick phone interview discussing my background, strengths/weaknesses, goals for my career, with plenty of time for my questions. Laura quickly followed up to schedule an in person interview with herself as well as two hiring managers from different teams. This interview was more in depth on my work experience and technical knowledge. We discussed my ideal work environment, how I work in a team, successes/challenges within my career, and personal questions about my interests. It was a very friendly and informative interview. It felt more like a conversation than a quiz and I was able to learn more about the role within the company. After this I had a last minute wrap up with the HR team to make sure all my questions were answered which was very helpful. Laura followed up with a phone call shortly after letting me know they were offering the position! They were very quick to respond throughout the process which was very helpful since I was balancing a current job.
