I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Rare Mile Technologies (Bengaluru) in Mar 2016
Interview
The first round will be group discussion.Make sure you are very good and precise in GD else you wont be moving forward.Try to be loud and to the point,a little bit of fumble and you will be kicked out
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Rare Mile Technologies
Interview
Really bad experience. The guys who interviewed me were really smug (& maybe even a bit racist). Felt like walking out of the interview room. May be this was an isolated incident and doesn't happen that often.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How much do I make from my online apps in play store (seriously? is it your business?)
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Rare Mile Technologies (Bengaluru) in Aug 2016
Interview
First Attempt -
written test was
The question was - check whether the two Strings are Anagram or not(they didn't mention that they want solution in O(n))
I gave the solution -
And the interview panel rejected my Solution saying
1) there is no method like nextLine() in Scanner class. Seriously?? refer java doc
2) they wanted solution in O(n). Which they didn't mention in the question.
I was confident about my Solution so I went to HR and the HR redirected me to technical team who rejected my Solution. And their behavior was like, they want to prove me wrong because their technical loopholes were highlighted because of my solution. I UNDERSTOOD AT THAT MOMENT THAT I AM NOT GOING TO BE RECRUITED. Finally, I proved my point and HR scheduled my interview on 10 August 2016.
When my interview started on 10th, The interviewer asked me same problem, I gave the same solution. He asked me to optimize solution and I did by using HashMap.
According to interviewer this wasn't optimized enough because I used charAt() method of String class. If you don't even allow these method so was I expected to write code in binary? I believe the developer community doesn't agree with the interviewer. refer stackoverflow, Anagram problem's solution is discussed there. The hashmap solution is one of the best and and if you don't agree just see the first answer in the stackoverflow and the likes, same approach is explained. I also would love to know if interviewer has any better solution in better time complexity.
After this logic there few other questions/views that I was asked and which do not make sense to me like - please see questions section
Here I have a question for the team - If you needed someone who could memorize APIs instead of logical capability, why wasn't it mentioned in the job description?
I was rejected.
Second Attempt -
On 19th August I was again called by Rare Mile team and in the call letter it was no where mentioned that a person cannot attend interview more than once in three months.
I went for interview on 23rd August and again cleared the first coding round. And my interview started. And suddenly the great interviewer who took my interview in the first attempt came with the HR and they said that as I have attended the interview before I cannot continue. I had to leave.
So that is why I do not consider the whole experience as a good one.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1) Interviewer said that an array maintains the order of insertion like an ArrayList. Whatt?? I don't agree with this and I am sure no one on the planet knowing array concept will agree.
2) Then he asked me about Hashmap's get method. I explained him and told that there is a for loop executed when we call HashMap's get method. He didn't agree. please refer HashMap's code.
3) I was given so many complex logical problem and asked to convert them into code. I did. Each and everyone of them.
4) Also he asked me about the Collection APIs which Are hardly used. I have been working on huge enterprise applications and worked with GREAT developers and seen their code, nobody actually uses it until and unless they are asked to use.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Rare Mile Technologies (Bengaluru)
Interview
Interview process has four rounds. All got completed the same day.
Lot of technical questions being asked. Tough Coding Test given by the managers.
Process is very lengthy as if they are interviewing for the position of Project head and not a software engineer.
