I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Ravenswood Studio (Chicago, IL) in Dec 2024
Interview
I met with a recruiter which was a very positive experience. I then met with their fractional CHRO, and it was one of the most unpleasant interviews I have ever had. The person was devoid of any personality whatsoever. They did not crack a smile’ they also appeared a little distracted, though I can't say with 100% certainty. They only asked a couple of questions and that surprised me. I also expected more probing or deeper HR related questions. For someone who touted their experience, from what I experienced, what they displayed showed a lack of professionalism and experience. While they are maintaining the top HR position until they bring somebody in, I have to question their overall capabilities in recruiting their replacement.
First a call to check out credentials and do a mutual fit.
Then they bring you in for a half day. A tour questions with the production manager then a CAD test with review with the PM post cad test.

Question 1
How do you communicate effectively with the shop floor?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ravenswood Studio (Lincolnwood, IL) in June 2019
Interview
One of the weirdest interviews I've ever had. I was interviewed by two people who clearly hadn't prepared for the interview, which is fine. But it felt like they had never interviewed anyone before. Ever. For any position.
They asked me to walk them through my resume, but then the one guy actually said, "we've never interviewed for an estimator before. I don't know what questions to ask."
They didn't ask me any standard interview questions, but randomly pulled like two more questions out of the air. One of them was, "if you were going to estimate this desk and credenza, how would you do it?" It's kind of a weird and stupid question.
They told me about the position and the company. One guy had to leave for a conference call. The other one asked if I had any questions but clearly wanted to wrap up, so we did.
