      Data Engineer Interview

      13 July 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Reddit (New York, NY) in July 2021

      Interview

First got on a call with a very friendly recruiter who was informative and seemed genuinely excited about Reddit and where they're going. Next was an hour long technical round that I didn't pass. It wasn't very hard and the interviewer was friendly and helpful, I just didn't have enough time in my schedule to brush up on SQL. Overall the experience was a great one.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Simple SQL queries on two tables on sales revenue and advertisers 1) Find the daily performance of advertiser with the highest weekly revenue last week 2) find percentage of advertisers who reported revenue over $40 I think there would of been some Python questions following the SQL if we finished this part. Interviewer was super helpful and I was able to reach a working solution with his guidance

      Interview

Recruiter missed our phone screen, set up follow up call a few hours later, missed that one as well and then ghosted me when I tried to follow up. Waste of time.

      Question 1

Trying contact with recruiter and as hardest interview of my life.

      Interview

Cool interviewer, No stress. There is a recruiter call then a technical screen and then a round of interviews. All the best. First round of technical interviews is for SQL concepts.
