      Font-End Engineer Interview

      6 Aug 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Reddit in July 2021

      Interview

Overall seemed too good to be true. Everyone was nice but not overly so. The other front end engineers I talked to were charmless, as others said, but seemed friendly enough. They didn’t ask me anything too difficult and I did all their interviews pretty easily. First interview was a technical screen. Second interview was a small coding challenge. Final-Round was a 5 hour virtual “on-site”. It was 3 cultural interviews and 2 technical ones. I was told to expect an offer (or a rejection!) 24-36 hours later. I heard nothing. I followed up and was told to expect a response after the weekend. Again, I heard nothing. Followed up the middle of the next week (7 days after final interview) and heard nothing. Got an automated rejection email. The typical, “sorry we wont be moving forward with you” email that you would expect to receive after a phone screen or resume submission. Not after spending 10+ hours interviewing. Overall, big waste of my time and energy. Can’t believe they didn’t even have the decency to at least send me a personalized rejection email.
