I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Refurbed in June 2026
Interview
Introduction interview. Take home task. Technical interview. Culture fit interview. Bar raiser one-on-one with C-suite.
All communication was very prompt and efficient - after every stage I got a decision in a few days.
Technical task was on point - reasonable scope 2~4h. It was practical task, with a bit of a challenge, and not a leet code problem.
Technical, culture fit and bar raiser were all conducted in a relaxed dialog format. No textbook exam or artificial hypotheticals. Just to figure out what your real world skills are and how you like to work.
Plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Refurbed (Vienna) in Dec 2025
Interview
The interview had the following rounds:
- Screening with the recruiter.
- Take-home test
- Tech round with developers
- Company fit round with product and eng manager
- Bar raiser with CTO
I found the interview experience overall really nice. The take-home test was interesting and fairly challenging, but did not take more time than one evening to complete. And the interviews were engaging and collaborative, and the interviewers were friendly and welcoming.
I also really liked the punctuality, I always got very clear estimates regarding when I can expect to receive feedback or the next round to be scheduled, so it was easy to manage expectations.

Interview
- First, a call with HR to better understand what the position was about and the mission of the company.
- Second, a take home task: unfortunately the problem statement was very poorly written and let to confusion on what were the objectives. I made a solution that covered most of the cases, but they didn't give me the chance to discuss it.

Question 1
A relatively simple take home test, but with a poorly written problem statement.
