I applied online. I interviewed at Registers of Scotland (Edinburgh, Scotland) in June 2026
Interview
Chat with recruitment staff member then 1 hour of behaviour based questions with a panel of 2. This all went as standard.
A 1 hour 'applied exercise' then began which was supposed to test technical ability. The exercise was very poorly designed, contained multiple contradictions and included mountains of instructions and content to read through. It was barely possible to even begin in the time allocated.
Despite being extremely capable of carrying out the advertised role to a very high standard, this test caused me chaos to such a degree that I left in tears. Horrible experience and I'm glad I did not get the role or need to step back in a place that treats people like that.
