I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Relativity Space in June 2023
Interview
I applied for the position and was invited to start the interview process just six days later. In their first email, they provided me with a PDF that detailed how the entire process would unfold. The first interview was a standard recruiter interview, which wrapped up quickly and I was soon scheduled for the next one. I suggested some times, and they confirmed one of them. However, when I entered the Zoom room for the second interview, there was nobody there. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I reached out to my recruiter, but there was no response until the scheduled time ended. The recruiter eventually got in touch with me on the following Monday and rescheduled the interview for later that day, giving me only three hours' notice. During the rescheduled interview, the interviewer apologized for missing the original time and explained that they had gone on an unexpected vacation.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Was allowed to choose two topics to focus on out of four. I was then given basically a homework question from my undergrad to complete.
Two interview rounds, both conducted over Zoom. One 45 minutes, the other 1.5 hours. All technical questions, no behavioral questions. Mostly about fluid mechanics and heat transfer, some rocket-specific questions.

Interview
Egotistical, demeaning technical recruiter. Could not have imagined a more horrible experience for a screening call. Refused to provide any information regarding the role while repeatedly asking candidate to kiss up to the company.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Relativity Space (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2024
Interview
Interview process was straight forward. It went as they said it would: panel interview followed by one-on-ones, and then a tour of the facility. I was surprised at how young and the lack of diversity of the population and it showed in the interview questions. Lots of fundamental questions from back in college which honestly was surprising considering I've been working for 8+ years but also makes sense since they all look like they've been working for less than 5 years...and they're the experienced staff. I'm almost sure why I didn't get an offer (stumbled on a few of the fundamental questions because I forgot the formula) but that just shows the lack of experience in the staff. When you don't have experience hiring, you have to fall back on an unbiased system (i.e. asking fundamental questions) but in doing so, you're missing an entire population who is experienced and can solve problems. Perhaps they don't know all the formulas off the top of their head but they know the engineering concepts and how to deliver results. Anyway, it was a fair process but I think their lack of experience is causing a lot of issues in all aspects of the organization.
