Did not make it to interview stage unfortunately but found the whole application process a disaster! Had my worst experience in applying for a job ever. Really knocked my confidence. The role of HR Compliance Specialist was to manage their candidate onboarding, people screening and right to work checks. An area i have 10 years+ experience in and not just small firms but global financial firms, therefore i felt that i would be a top applicant and deserving of an interview. I applied in March when it was initially advertised and checked the candidate portal daily but received no update on my progress, eventually gave up and moved on but then found the same role advertised again at the End of May, so once again i applied. I messaged the recruiter and received no reply, this was a pattern that continue for the next 5 weeks (Ironically). I tried reaching out to other recruiters who all ignored me also. After 5 weeks i noticed my application status moved to "Unselected" i didn't receive an email or a call confirming this. I understand there may be many candidates and its possible that they just cant physically contact all those that aren't successful, however, at least send me an automated email response rather than me having to find out, preferably an email response confirming why i'm unselected? I don't know now whether my salary expectations were too high therefore not meeting their criteria or if i simply wasn't the best candidate. I have no way of knowing so naturally you assume you aren't good enough which is now impacting my confidence and future applications. Found it very unprofessional and on reflection wouldn't want to work in that environment.
