After applying online, I was invited to complete an AI interview. While I understand the intention to streamline hiring, the experience felt impersonal and disconnected. In hindsight, I wouldn’t choose to participate in that format again, as it didn’t feel like a respectful or effective way to engage with candidates.

I applied online. I interviewed at Resonate Solutions
Interview
Intial screening 15 minutes, Interview set up with hiring manager. They wanted me to do a design task with a deadline of 1 week, the document had Product Design Intern (June) as the title, I did not complete it.
I applied online. I interviewed at Resonate Solutions (North Sydney) in July 2025
Interview
6 rounds
1. HR phone screen
2. Google Meet with the head of Product
3. Extensive take home assignment with 3 distinct design challenges
4. In person Interview with Snr Product designer and head of product
5. In person interview with cross functional team
6. In person interview with founder
Now imagine all of this for an internship. Im as appalled as the next person. Such an extensive unpaid take home task (for reference my report was about 20 pages). I have a peer who also interviewed here and received a call after she submitted the assignment from the head of product to turn in more wireframes and hi fidelity prototypes.
We are all thinking the same thing right? They are using people and students to crowdsource ideas for their product issues.
I got rejected after 4 rounds with a generic email from the HR. When asking for any feedback or context I was responded to coldly citing there were "too may candidates". I highly doubt there are more than 10 candidates who cleared 4 rounds.
Companies need to be held accountable. I was not even thanked for the effort and time i put in. They also disguise a full time junior role as an "internship" so they can massively underpay you.
