I applied on a job board site that's run through my university. The recruiter, Sam, emailed me a few days later, asking to set up a phone screen. A day later, I talked with the Director of Marketing and Sales for about 40 minutes. It was pretty conversational-- a mix of him asking about my resume and also explaining the company and the role. As the interview was winding down, he told me to look for an email from Sam setting up a cold call scenario as the next step in the interview process. It didn't sound like a "we're talking to other people and we'll let you know", definitely more of a "we want to continue learning about you". Three days later, I got an email from Sam saying they had moved forward with a difference candidate.

The total process took a few weeks, but it was great. So when I first applied there was no role, but they were still kind enough to reach out to me. They took the time to learn about my background to see if I could be a fit later on. After that HR said if something opens up they will reach out to me. A few weeks later HR reached out and I went in the office that the following week for an in-person interview. After that HR connected me with the CEO for a phone call and shortly after that call an offer was made. Honestly one of the best interviews experiences I've ever had.
