An initial 4 interviews with VP's all went well and I was asked to present a case study, as the 5th meeting. Only 2 days prior to the scheduled 5th meeting, I was sent a late email indicating the upcoming meeting was going to be canceled, due to other candidates moving forward in the interviewing process. At the time of receiving the late email, I had already put in 20 hours of preparation for the presentation. I immediately wrote back to HR and indicated this was unfair and late to receive such an email. I had been told earlier that there were only 2 candidates who had made presentations, so the excuse that many candidates in the interim had flowed through the interview process was not true. Secondly, I have not received a response in now 3 days since my follow up email to HR, indicating that my candidate experience was much less than satisfactory and in fact rude, as my time and efforts weren't respected. I'm fine with not moving forward in an interview process, however being treated the way I was, represented a lack of professionalism and business etiquette.
