I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Ritual (Toronto, ON) in Oct 2018
Interview
An initial call with the recruiter followed by a video interview with two managers. I was then invited to an onsite interview, was told it would be with one team member followed by another with a manager. Interview with a team member was more culture fit, easy conversation.
Unfortunately what I thought would be just another interview with a manager turned out to be a sales demo with a remote person watching via webcam. Not only was I not informed that this would be happening I was given all of 5 minutes to prepare after being verbally given the target information. How can you expect a candidate to perform properly in an already stressful situation? How do you expect your company to look when your interview process disrespect and distrust? It's a poor hiring technique and sadly does not help you see the real value in a candidate.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this note. I can assure you we will be using this to build a better interview experience for candidates interviewing with Ritual in the future. As a global team, and in order to vet specific skills we draw from a very large interviewer pool - it’s not uncommon to speak with people from across different teams at Ritual and many are in international locations. As a distributed team and a flat org, we do see a benefit to meeting people from different geographies and teams as you gain a better sense of how the pieces fit together and our culture as a whole. While our interview process is intentionally ambiguous and mirrors the kinds of situations that you often encounter at Ritual, we’re always happy to answer any questions you have throughout the interview process.
