I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at River Island in Nov 2018
Interview
It was such an odd way to interview! It was a group with like 20 of us initially, then as soon as we got in they asked us all our availablity and the ones who couldn’t work Christmas Eve or Boxing Day were told they can leave if they want because there’s no point in them being there, which I thought was so rude! Around 7 people left. Then we did an ice breaker which was saying a bit about ourselves then two truths and one lie and we all had to guess which was a lie, which I think is a weird way to interview. Then we paired up and chose an outfit for an imaginary customer and explained it then that was pretty much it. So there was no chance to really find out who would actually be suitable for the job. No one-one interviews and the staff seemed uninterested and vacant.
Video interview asked around 5-6 questions, you get two takes for each question and each question lasts around 30 seconds. Easy and quick process . Questions included your availability and why you want to work here
I applied in-person. I interviewed at River Island (Birmingham, England)
Interview
Group and individual, not a bad process. A mix of picking out outfits for specific occasions as you would in a sales associate roll, and also answering questions about retail in general.
Had a group interview, in which was asked differnt questions concerning customer service. A lot of partcipants in the interview, which made it harder to stand out. Overall, interview was not too hard.
