Interview
Basic 30 min interview, some technical questions, nothing too difficult. The first interview wasn't with HR though, was with someone working in the position currently. I got a 2nd technical interview, which took a couple of hours to complete. Was very disappointed that all I received after spending that much time on it was a "We're impressed with your work, but we've decided to move forward with another candidate ". The lack of even a little feedback rubbed me the wrong way after committing a couple of hours to the tech interview.
I was really disappointed by my experience with Rivery. One of their practice leads, Ryan W. reached out to me for an account executive role, and followed up with me several times to meet with their VP of sales. For context: I identify as a black woman and spend a lot of time helping organizations with their diversity efforts.
I did research on Rivery's diversity efforts and after emailing a few times with Ryan, I broached the topic of how the organization celebrated or promoted diversity efforts, specifically Black History Month. Ryan stopped communicating with me, and never responded to any of my messages.
I think that this says a lot about the leadership, as this person is listed as a practice lead.

Thanks for your review and feedback, we will use your experience to improve our interviewing process. Ryan W. is an outsourced recruiter that we work with to find potential candidates. He is not a Rivery employee and would not have been able to answer specific questions related to diversity hiring.
Even though we are a young company we are a diverse company at all levels of the company. We have minorities and women leading the company from senior executive roles. Overall, as a company we greatly exceed the industry average for female hiring. We are proud to have employees from diverse backgrounds including minorities and new immigrants – several of whom were hired during this period.
We have never and will never exclude a candidate based on race, gender, or religion.
