I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Rivian
Interview
The experience started out really well talking with the Rivian Talent Acquisition member who reached out to me. They were very nice and informative on my first phone call. After that, I had a phone interview with an engineer and I thought it went well and we talked for 45 minutes. I received an email a couple hours later, at 5pm on a Friday, saying they decided to not move forward with no other feedback. It was an automated email too just saying to keep my applications in for other positions. I found this a little confusing as Rivian reached out to me and I did not apply or submit an application. Some background or information on why this decision was made would be helpful as it seems they did not spend too much time thinking about it. This makes me think they set up the interview as a some sort of requirement and they were never going to move forward in the first place. Some feedback for why this decision was made would help me greatly moving forward.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. What is a problem you have dealt with in your work experience and how did you work to solve it? 2. Why do you want to work for Rivian?
They asked me questions about my career and skills and i answered them and then they asked more questions and then i answered those too. yes i did mhmm for sure i did
Started with a call from a recruiter asking me about my resume. 2 weeks later got invited to a panel with multiple interviews with different engineering leads. Mostly behavioral questions with some technical questions.
3 rounds, fairly quick process. Recruiting was very helpful and polite. Mix of technical and behavioral questions. Left feeling like I had a good idea of what the job would be like (rotational program for new grads.)
