I had a strong initial screening call, but the follow-up interview was surprisingly unprofessional, especially given the generally positive interview feedback I’d seen from other candidates. During the conversation, the interviewer was repeatedly engaged in an off-screen conversation, which led to frequent interruptions and requests for me to repeat myself due to them not paying attention. The lack of focus and continuity felt disrespectful of my time and effort. Unfortunately, the experience came across as rude and did not meet basic expectations for a professional interview process.
