I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Rockerbox
Interview
- Hiring Manager Screen (1hr)
- Half technical, half behavioral
- Dedicated Python
- Dedicated SQL
- Dedicated System Design
- Panel Interview, Behavioral
- Executive Interview (Brief)
I thought the Rockerbox process was reasonably difficult but fair. It felt very long while I was interviewing, though I understand that all the interviews were targeted to be distinct. I thought the direct team was good and I enjoyed speaking with them, but I did not feel supported by the executive and recruiting layer toward the end of my process.

Question 1
Behavioral: Please discuss your most difficult technical project execution.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Rockerbox in Dec 2024
Interview
I had a overall positive interview experience with Rockerbox. The team was professional and welcoming, and I especially enjoyed meeting hiring manager, whose experiences I found candid and closely relatable. Although I decided to pursue a local opportunity, I was genuinely excited about the prospect of working with the Rockerbox team.

Question 1
Describe a situation from past your expriences where your a technical design solution proposed or implemented by you had negative repurcussions.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Rockerbox in June 2024
Interview
Interview process was unnecessarily long. Too many live coding rounds. If you can't figure out the candidate's potential from one coding interview, then there is something wrong with the company. On paper there were 2 live coding interviews - one SQL and the other python. But they also had coding in the system design interview. The system design was scheduled for an hour and the design, 2 SQL coding questions and any questions you may have for the interviewer must be done within an hour which is laughable. Anyone who has system design interviews knows the whole thing can take 45 - 60 mins.
I felt rushed and was barely started drawing the design when I was rushed into the SQL part.
No algo or DS coding was required. But I got cringe behavioral questions like what was one thing lacking in your previous team and why didn't you fix it?

Question 1
SQL problems consisted of joining multiple datasets to get aggregations. You should know different ways of joining data to get the right info.
