I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Rocket Lawyer in May 2026
Interview
2 rounds of interview. 1st with the HR, 2nd with Manager and Engineer. All the people were kind and supportive. 2nd interview was an AI assisted coding round where I was given a mock codebase and had to figure out the code and build a feature.
The whole process went smoothly. The recruiter was responsive, set clear expectations on next steps and interview style. They also kindly accommodated my requests on timing when I shared that I was interviewing with multiple companies. All the interviewers I met with dialed in on time, treated me with respect, and seemed transparent when answering my questions at the end of each call.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Mostly behavioral questions e.g., “Tell me about a time when…”
I completed five rounds of interviews and an assessment for a role at Rocket Lawyer. The process was organized and the people I spoke with were professional. After the final round, I heard nothing. When I followed up weeks later, I received a response acknowledging internal issues and a promise to get back to me, which never happened. There was never a formal decline.
Candidates invest significant time in a process this extensive. Acknowledging that you're aware someone is waiting and then still failing to close the loop is, frankly, worse than silence. It signals that candidate communication is simply not a priority.
Advice to management: A rejection email takes two minutes. If your internal issues are affecting your ability to communicate with candidates, that's worth examining. It likely reflects broader organizational challenges.
