I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Rockstar Games
Interview
Never had a recruiter experience like this. Really hard to communicate and schedule with, and on the call was clearly not interested in moving me along and kept trying to push me toward another role they were struggling to fill. (I get that I was qualified for it but the reason they were struggling to fill it was because, like a lot jobs there, the pay is well below market rate. I insisted I wasn't interested but they kept pushing.) She only asked one question about my background which was about my undergraduate degree, not my ten years of work experience. Pretty bizarre experience overall.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Rockstar Games (Los Angeles, CA) in Nov 2020
Interview
I had a video call from the head recruiter, who was very pleasant. It was mainly a discussion about my skills and interest, and she was very transparent about their work hours and crunch times.
After that, I was invited to have an interview with I believe a coordinator from the team and that interview went off without a hitch, and I was moved forward to the third round.
It was at the third round that I was taken out of being considered for the position, however, when I had asked for feedback they'd gladly given it to me and felt that I was a good match culturally, however they needed someone with more experience. They even wished to find a position for me to be able to be hired, however they simply did not have anything.
Overall, everyone was courteous and on-time with their interviews, and it was a good learning experience on my part.
