I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Roke Manor Research (Romsey, England) in Nov 2018
Interview
The assessment day consisted of an overview of the company and its graduate programme, a group task (involving design and presentation elements), and an interview with a more senior employee as well as someone currently on the graduate programme. The interview began with you giving a short presentation (prepared in advance of the assessment day) on a project you'd undertaken or a technical subject studied.

Question 1
Questions about choices made within the project presented, ranging from architectural to technological choices, made up a substantial amount of the time. The interviewers were very good at maintaining a friendly atmosphere and were very much interested in discussing topics in relation to something I was familiar with, not generic programming concepts, i.e. we didn't just go through a list of questions about sorting algorithms, iteration vs recursion, object inheritance, etc. We also discussed other projects or interests on my CV and how/if I'd linked software development skills into them or vice versa.
Started with a telephone screening before progressing to a full interview day with other potential candidates. Nice and interactive. Had to complete individual and group interviews throughout the day. There was a mix of behavioural and technical interviews.
