Applied online and the recruiter reached out a few days later to set up a call for 15 mins. On the day of the interview, I received a calendar notification that the event date/time had changed, but no email or note from the recruiter so I followed up and let the recruiter know I’m not available on the new date/time. Seemed unprofessional to me that they changed the calendar invite, but didn’t send me an email or note about it first.
We rescheduled and the recruiter screen lasted only 5 minutes and the recruiter was very rude. Didn’t introduce themselves or talk about the role or anything. I basically shared my background and we talked about salary for a bit and that’s it.
I told the recruiter I was interviewing elsewhere so they set up the hiring manager call immediately after our call. I had a nice interview with the hiring manager and the hiring manager told me next step would be to speak with the director.
I assumed the recruiter would be reaching out to me to set up the next step, but didn’t hear from them so I followed up. The recruiter responded 3 days later saying they haven’t gotten next steps instructions from the hiring manager yet, which was odd to me because the hiring manager told me what next steps are. In the email, the recruiter said if anything has changed for me, they can speed up the process. But I thought you didn’t know the next steps, so how would you speed it up? After that, I never responded and they never reached back out.
The recruiter was very unprofessional and rude. If they wanted to reject me, they could’ve done so instead of avoiding me and giving excuses.
