The interview process was very well organised and all the staff - particularly the head of department - were very kind and welcoming. I taught a lesson first (lasting 25 minutes) and then there were four interviews with different senior leaders at the school. Questions were typical for a teaching interview, focusing on previous experience, safeguarding, educational philosophy, scenarios etc. As I said, it was one of the more positive interview experiences, despite not being offered the job. The head of department was very kind and rung me personally to explain that I had not been succesful and offered encouragement to me to keep applying for other roles. I wish that all schools were as courteous with candidates as my experience at other schools has been far worse. I would recommend all prospective teachers to apply, as the school (or the English department at least) does seem to really value the effort and time that candidates put into the process.
