The interview was for a position in Singapore. From the start of the call, the local interviewer was rude, she seemed like I was already wasting her time from the minute I greeted her. Through the interview she was uninterested to hear about my experiences and kept trying to downplay my skills / rephrase my own words to convince me how my skills are not relevant for the job (I have been an events producer for 8 years, so it's not likely none of my skills were relevant). She was argumentative about my own experiences and would not give me a chance to explain them in detail. After asking me to clarify certain things mentioned, she was defensive and dismissed a lot of what I said. There was another English interviewer from the global office present in the call. The local interviewer only acknowledged him. Was constantly joking and poking fun at him, trying to come up with some inside jokes, but when it came to talking to me her expression immediately changed. It felt deliberate to make me feel like there was some inner-circle I wasn't a part of. The whole interview was very uncomfortable and quite disrespectful to a point I asked if we should even continue. It put the whole department and work environment in a very bad light. After the interview I was definitely not keen to work under someone like her, who did not even have the basic decency to say "hello" to me, but could greet the foreigner with a great big smile and casual conversation. Overall a very disappointing experience from such a credible company.
