My interview experience started on a positive note with a relaxed and engaging conversation. However, the interviewer requested that I share my screen on Microsoft Teams. Due to extra security measures on my MacBook, I was unable to do this on the spot.
These security measures demonstrate my tech-savviness and my commitment to privacy. If I had been able to share my screen, the interviewer would have easily seen that I am indeed tech-savvy. In fact, I have experience helping new hires with systems and technology. Unfortunately, this was not recognized, and I was passed over for the role.
It seems that the company prioritizes minor technical skills, like knowing how to favorite a website, over understanding a candidate's sales ability and potential. It's disappointing that a company would overlook valuable talent for such trivial reasons. I wouldn't want to work for a company that doesn't appreciate the full spectrum of a candidate's skills and attributes. It's truly sad to see them lose out on potential talent over something so insignificant.
