I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sahara Group (Lagos) in May 2026
Interview
I went through the process up to and including the physical Assessment Centre and want to give future applicants an honest picture of what to expect.
The process:
1. Applied online → received an email to select preferred location
2. Short written assessment – essays on how you think, act, and create impact
3. Psychometric & situational judgment assessment – scenario-based, tests decision-making and reasoning
4. 10-minute speed dating interview – relaxed and conversational, they genuinely want to get to know you. Nice experience overall.
5. Physical Assessment Centre – group case study and Competency-Based Interview (CBI)
On the CBI: be prepared. It is rigorous. They will pressure you to second-guess your answers — do not change your position unless you genuinely have reason to. Stand firmly on what you said and why. That composure is what they are evaluating.
One thing I found genuinely disappointing: Sahara does not reimburse travel costs for the physical Assessment Centre. For candidates coming from outside the city, this is a real out-of-pocket expense. For a company of Sahara's size and reputation, this should be addressed. Go in knowing you will bear that cost yourself.
The process is well-structured and gives you a fair chance to demonstrate yourself — but manage your expectations on candidate support and logistics.
Application
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Sahara Group

The third was an assessment center done physically
The fourth was a physical assessment to test teamwork skills
The final was a board interview
The interview process is usually 3 to 4 stages and an assessment centre to include various individual and group tasks, case study and presentation. The final interview with the board of directors
