I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Sainsbury’s in Aug 2025
Interview
Received a hackajob interview which was 5 questions about css with two coding questions.
The hackajob ide and process, is really quite poor with multiple window frames open and different scrolling lengths for each. This slowed me down as examples for fetching were at the bottom below the example questions. In my case these examples to fetch the data had to be followed exactly including importing modules. It felt like a wasted hour after spotting this at the last moment and unable to actually implement the code.

Question 1
Implement a call to fetch this data as json then compare to a list of ids provided change the json objects whose id matches the list given.
After a lengthy process communicating through email, having a referral. Waiting for hiring managers to come back from holidays. I did a final interview in which I was asked very specific questions based on their setup where they were expecting a particular answer and if you didn't know it they won't give you the right answer, broken English and lack of conversation
Applied in August, immediately received a link to a hackajob coding test which contained around 24 questions, all multiple choice with the last one being a coding exercise to write a function for determining which year would be one of 3 days. Received no confirmation after submitting the coding test and have had no communication since to acknowledge it. Reached out to the careers team and haven't heard anything back either. Poor experience.
