      Associate Software Engineer Interview

      6 Feb 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bengaluru
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Sasken (Bengaluru) in Feb 2026

      Interview

There were supposed to be 2 rounds of interview as this was for an experienced position: 1. Technical Round: This happened for an hour. Virtually from an employer's laptop in office. 2. Probably a MR/HR round or a Client Round (I am not sure) The interview was fairly easy. The panelist was extremely supportive. I couldn't secure the position as I focussed on preparing harder questions like Data Structures, Algos and preparing based on my Projects I worked in my ex-organisation. I forgot to prepare on the more fundamental side of programming. The panelist gave hints at every step, and eventually I was able to solve some of the questions that were given to me. However, I believe the number of hints I took to solve it may have demotivated the interviewer from taking me in. Whole session was recorded. Toward the end, I asked questions about the technology stacks in use and the interviewer's own experiences, which they answered thoughtfully. Overall, this was a valuable and enlightening experience. It has clearly shown me areas where I need to deepen my foundational knowledge. I am committed to preparing more comprehensively and look forward to securing an opportunity with Sasken in the future.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Given a 2D array, can you sum all the elements from rows and all the elements from columns distinctly and return the answer from the array. (Code platform: Notepad. Input given. Output format was not given. They were more interested in my though process than the actual code.)

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through university. I interviewed at Sasken in Feb 2025

      Interview

It is MNC which is mostly works in the areas like embedded systems, IoT, AI & ML. I was selected through the college campus placements. There 4-5 rounds are taken by the company. Firstly they have aptitude + technical test online, in which you have to select the language like C++, C, JAVA. There are 2 coding questions which you have to solve using the selected language only. Then the remaining part consist of MCQ on topics like OS, selected language(C++,JAVA), SQL, cloud, Linux, Networking, Basic MS Office tools, and many basic technical with aptitude questions. Then there is Technical GD and General GD :- According to your selected language your GD is taken. I had asked about the System Softwares in Technical GD. Everyone got the chance to say there point. General GD is only for the verbal communications and soft skills measures. Technical Interview :- My interview was little bit difficult. In it the Technical HR asked for my intro and my projects firstly. It is very key changing point in my interview where I had explained the all methods and structure of my project. Sir asked me to perform some basic Operations which are present in my projects on notepad. It is essential to do your projects based on your skills. We had very big discussion about 25-30 mins on projects and there working. Then asked me about CPP que - OOPS explain(main focus on inheritance, polymorf, abs), ptrs, memory management, one code in which remove the duplicate names in students list. Mp and Mc, Semaphores, Threads and Processes. Basically, you need to be very clear about your skills mentioned in the resume and you have strong knowledge about the projects. Also If don't know any answer then don't hesitate just convince them it properly like " I am not sure about this topic, I'll brush it up and work on it". You should very clear about what you are speaking. Take a pause if you jumbled then speak properly. HR - Head of HR department of sasken and Senior HR was very Gracious, they asked me for small intro + hobbies.
