I would like to provide feedback regarding my recent interview experience. I attended an interview in June, during which I was asked to share my presentation deck, which I understand is standard practice.
Here's a brief timeline:
1. Following the interview, interviewer requested for my presentation deck privately, without the HR roped into the email. I did so as requested. Though I find it a little weird.
2. A week later, I received a follow-up to confirm my continued interest, which I affirmed.
3. A month after that, I was informed that my application was unsuccessful.
I later learned that the interviewer, who seemed to have limited familiarity with the APAC market, was ultimately selected for the position. Interestingly, I noticed that some of the strategies I presented – which had initially been critiqued during the interview – are now being implemented. I am also a little confused on why is a potential competitor for the job being assigned to be the interviewer.
I wanted to share this feedback, as it may be helpful for future interview processes. Thank you for considering my perspective.
