Phone call interview, mainly asked questions about resume and proceeded to ask technical questions about general mechanical topics. Also asked what your favorite plane is. Overall, pleasant interview with two engineers, but ultimately did not get the position.
The interview process is lengthy. It is a multi part interview where you speak with different managers/SME's and answer technical questions. Then you go on a tour of the facility and answer more questions. The questions are easier than you initially think. Don't overthink it.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Scaled Composites in Aug 2025
Interview
Contacted by friendly HR staff over email who were very responsive to my questions and concerns. Was contacted by an engineer for the company a few weeks later for a phone interview. The interview is very detail oriented and can range anywhere from analyzing your projects/experience in depth to checking your understanding of various aircraft systems and theory ranging from landing gear and propulsion to wing structures and guidance systems. Scaled wants the best of the best and the most essential thing they want is someone who can utilize hands on engineering experience and a thorough understanding of engineering principles to bring their innovative aircraft designs to life. The engineers also gave very insightful feedback as to your strengths and weaknesses along with what you can do to improve and potentially move forward with them in the future.

2. How would you approach designing landing gear to be able to land the aircraft within a certain distance from the runway?
3. Questions on your material choice and an in-depth analysis of material properties are all fair game.
