      Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Scheels (West Des Moines, IA) in Sept 2011

      Interview

The interview was easy as long as you have an interest in sports and outside activities. After being hired we then went through training which only took a week or two and we were compensated during said week.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Scheels (Coralville, IA) in May 2013

      Interview

The interview process took 2-3 weeks, and I ended up having to go into the store 4 times before I was actually hired. The first time I went in, I filled out the short-form application, which was actually pretty long with just basic work, volunteer experience, education and descriptions. For the second meeting, I had to fill out the long-form application, which was a whole packet with questions about the industry and a few basic math tests that actually took about 45 minutes. Then, I had two separate interviews with two of the Assistant Store Leaders, which were both pretty straighforward.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Several questions asking about the store's history in the area, such as how the company was viewed by the city, that kind of thing.
