I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Scheels

      Interview

I applied online and received a call a couple days later asking a few interview questions and then scheduling an in person interview. I went in two days later and had two interviews. The first with someone in HR and the second with the cashier ASL. They both asked typical interview questions. After my first interview, I was given a test (what they call long form) with basic math and writing. I was given a calculator for the math portion and the writing part is writing a letter to a dissatisfied customer. There is also a list of terms and I had to write how I would fit into those (they’re all the headings from the job description ie. culture, teachability, etc). After that test, I interviewed with the cashier ASL. I was asked very similar interview questions as in the first interview and then I was asked to come back a few hours later. When I came back later, they offered me the position, did a drug test, and sent in my background and credit check.

      PT Cashier Interview

      24 Sept 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I applied in-person. I interviewed at Scheels

      Interview

I filled out a form and had a short interview with a manager . Managers wear white shirts, called Assistant Store Leaders or ASLs. They called me back a week later. I had another interview and took an aptitude test . The test has writing section, where you're asked to write a letter. It also checks spelling, grammar, basic math, and product knowledge. Some questions I remember were about Merino wool, Gore-Tex, types of guns and ammo, etc. I think it's to determine what department you should work in for sales. I was hired a few days after that.
