I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Schiller Grounds Care (Southampton, PA) in Mar 2020
Interview
The interview process was casual and friendly. The people who interviewed me were very nice. I didn't feel nervous during the interview process. They mostly asked me about my job experience. The interview was quick.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Most of the questions were related to job experience.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Schiller Grounds Care (Raleigh, NC) in Jan 2019
Interview
Pretty normal initial contact through email. Pretty slow in response and follow up from the HR Representative. Finally spoke to the HR representative and they were very scripted with no genuine aptitude for the position or company. Strangely I researched the the interviewee and they had been with Schiller for quite some time. Was lead to believe that I would be moving forward to speak to the hiring (a great relief because of the poor experience I had with the HR). Out of nowhere I was notified that they moved forward with another candidate. I feel they were not being honest with me and they never filled the position. I will be researching if they actually did. In general felt like a very non professional experience with dishonest individuals!!!
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 7 months. I interviewed at Schiller Grounds Care
Interview
This has to be one of the worst interview experiences of my entire professional career. The combination of the retained recruiter and the management of the company made this an extremely long, drawn out, and ill-informed process fraught with misinformation and false hope. After being contacted by a recruiter, and meeting with them within days of the initial call, I was told that this was a "high priority" and the company was ready to move quickly. This was the start of things going downhill... There were then weeks with no communication, even with my periodic check-ins with the recruiter. Eventually (months later) an interview was scheduled, and rescheduled, and rescheduled again due to conflicts with management. The interview itself went well, it was a very comfortable panel interview with no real surprise questions, and I left feeling really good about things. I was told that there were a few candidates being interviewed, and that a decision would be made within a week or two with respect to next steps. Again, months went by without a word, and again, I checked in regularly. I was led to believe that I was the front-runner, which turned out not to be the case.I got a call, out of the blue, 2 months later, to let me know that they had decided to move forward with another candidate (roughly 6 months after the initial contact). To date, I do not believe the person they hired has actually started (it's been over 8 months now).
I honestly don't care that I was not hired, I am just disappointed that this company has proven to be yet another organization that lacks basic human decency. Nothing that I was told during the entire process was true, they failed to communicate anything at all when promised, and I had to chase them to get answers. There were a stream of cancelled and/or rescheduled calls and in-person interviews, and nothing was handled in a timely manner. At the end of the day, if that is how they treat potential employees, its not a place that I'd like to work. I'd not recommend it for consideration to anyone that I know.
