After carefully considering all aspects of the job description, I applied for the Implementation Specialist position at Schooley Mitchell. I received an aptitude test which was completed in due time. The aptitude test was great and I knew that I had performed well in the test. Hence I deemeded appropriate to present my candidature along with my expression of interest also on phone to ensure that I make a human connection.
I must say I have had a disappointment. Neither did I know that the person who answered in a polite tone of voice saying " how may I direct your call" actually did not transfer the call and decided just to take my name and telephone number and promised that some would be calling me as soon as possible. Waited for a week, no answer was received from the Human Resources and hence I finally decided to follow up two more times leaving my name and telephone number. However, not being able to connect at the first attempt itself should have made me aware that the company would not entertainment the callers who whole heartedly try their best to stand out amongst other candidates and present their candidature in the best possible way.
Having worked for professional companies, unfortunately Schooley Mitchell did not meet my expectations as a potential employer.
I applied at another position for a different company, called the company to present my candidature, it was such a delightful conversation where the Hiring Manager was impressed that I decided to call and follow up on the application process. Got interviewed and got hired!!
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Schooley Mitchell (Stratford, ON) in May 2015
Interview
Submitted resume and was called for a single in-person interview. Received job offer in less than a week. Given that I was relatively over-qualified for the position applied for, the interview was more the interviewer selling the business to me rather than asking questions.
