I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Scooter's Coffee (Salem, IL) in Mar 2025
Interview
Well, after waiting a couple of weeks I got a call for an interview, I've always wanted to be a barista so I was pretty excited to even get an interview! So, the day I get there and I meet my manager, they're so nice and so sweet! They asked me the normal questions and what not and then asked me if I had any questions or concerns. I asked about benefits and whatnot and they told me briefly about them. Shortly after they told me they were offering me the job and I quickly accepted! I've been with them a couple of weeks now and the training process has been great! I've been having fun learning everything and meeting new people!

Interview
My hours for interviews weren’t compatible with meeting in person. I was offered a phone interview which I accepted and even messaged prior my intent to answer. When the time came, I received no call. So I sent a polite message asking to reschedule my interview and show my intent to join their team and I was ghosted. I am highly disappointed because I fully intended to go for the job especially since most jobs aren’t actually hiring like their ads say.
Just wanted knowledge of previous industry experience and availibility. Asked questions regarding working in a fast pace, team setting and eagerness to grow within the company. Asked about salary expectations, asked questions regarding personal life outside of work.
